Just a curious question
Most rules now for pulling (Antique tractors and Lawn Mowers) state that vertical exhaust is mandatory.
What is going to fly out of a side/curved exhaust (Gas motor, non-turbo) that could be damaging to someone?

Its more for straight pipes than mufflers, what can come out maybe a red hot chunk of a valve is it likely to happen NO but we unfortunately live in a sue happy society today and as for rain caps they just become deflectors so think about it like this if your family was setting in the stands and every tractor had a loaded ak47 aimed at the crowd how fast would you be getting your family out of there thats why the ak47s are aimed up cause sooner or later one of them will go off

our club does not allow curved pipes,if they show up with curved pipes,we kindly ask they please turn them forward-why? I was standing next to a guy who was hit in the chest by a hot piece of carbon coming from a side exhaust-i am glad it wasn't his eye!
