Here's my WC Ole' Hercule's when I first purchased him bout' 6 years ago. When this pic was taken, I already had the sheet metal removed and started to work on his engine. Last Fall, I started back on the ole' boy again getting the grille, tank, and other sheet metal pieces done at the body shop. Just recently purchased a set of new fenders from my pal Tony C. and sent them to the body shop with the other pieces for a squirt of PO#1. Plans are to have him back together and rollin' this summer! Well, that's the plan anyway....

A pic of Herc's engine going together from last summer. Everything all sandblasted and in primer now. Takes me a while to get my projects together with my full time job and part time business work load. Hopefully, this summer I'll get enough time to finish him up. Then its back onto finishing the resto on the Model G.

What's that plate on the side of the block, Steve?

The WC/WD blocks have that plate behind the oil filter/mag, that's the easiest way to tell if your WD45 has the right motor in it because they don't have that plate.

Thank you, Lonnie. I should have phrased my question better. It looks to me like a fabricated flat steel piece rather than original, but then I get lost when I look at anything bigger than a B. The plate just looked fabricated to me.

They do look homemade I guess, they are just flat steel with some holes drilled in it, nothing fancy.
