the first picture is the engine the distributor is going on isnt the rockers purty last picture shows the depth . you probably cant see that its correct but you can see that it doesnt block the gear and the shaft. 3rd picture gives a idea of how much bigger the cap is than the stock cap setting on it. The mason jar holds it up . Alot of enginenudity comes out of it. hudsonator my jar is full.
operators are standing by the phone to take orders .will ts me setting by to lazy to stand all day.

Pankey, both the water outlets on top are closed off. Is that temporary or what do you do to circulate back to the radiator.

For those of us in the cheap seats, whats the advantage of doing what you're doing to the dist? I get the roller rockers, etc. The massive dist has me confused.

Thanks. I love reading your posts about the pulling side of engine work. The electronic stuff still mystifes me, but I'm getting there.

Mason jars and enginenudity, must be a Tennessee thing.
Taking orders on what? Distributors or Mason Jars?
I like the HEI distributors, if for nothing else you can tailor the mechanical curves without disassembling the whole distributor. I have a bunch of vega/chevette HEI housings hoarded up, they're shorter than the 6&8 bangers. I don't intend to use them on an Allis - but will eventually find their way onto a maximized flathead 6. I wouldn't have thought ionization would have been a problem on a slow turning tractor - must be all that CD shenanagans created by the MSD box. I completely understand the pole distance in such a case. By the time you get the HEI voltage up to par with an appropriate A/F ratio in the cylinder, you won't even need the MSD box anymore - isn't that some irony?

I hope you have been a student of Larry Widmer's "soft combustion chamber" with a compression of 15:1. Or, you're bleeding enough with your cam to keep your dynamic compression lower.
I'm really diggin' those rocker arms!

No sharp edges everything has ben rounded .cam has overlap and the way we degreed it in made it have a huge centerline on the exhaust. Its just a matter of changing a degree key if it needs moved back closer to straight up . the clear fuel loves 15 to one compression. the rocker arms are purty aint they murphy did a good job on them.

Ahhh, so the engine will be running on mountain spring water.
That's enginenudity - is it legal? Complain to Obama if its not, you're promoting green energy.

well kurt hamil living and jt richardson who passed a year or so ago claims to have made 160 to 175 horses with the cubic inches of this motor . I am hoping to hit 200 mark but i doubt it with the airflow numbers the head produces . that engine pictured was a 1990 natpa points winning motor before i got a hold of it. Tarbill had water issues with it and pretty much ruined all the parts with silicon glass. Rpms I dont know what this big motor will be capable of but we lightened everything except the flywheel to give it a chance higher rpms. wd 45 is the tractor it will be going into.

Distributor shafts are harden ! May have to mark them up just a little bit . Didn't take into consideration the number of drill bits and saw blades that would be consumed. Its worth it. I am going to do two more ,one for Clays d14 and one for Matt's ca. I did notice that out of four delco 111-745 that they were variances in the roundness of the noises of the cam wheel that breaks the points . I wonder if the guys that are refurbishing the 1111-745 distributors have a tolerance speck for the ignition shaft cam wheel? Its probably not critical for points since you adjust the point gap but the petronix shutter that fits over the cam wheel could have excessive play. Oh well its just a after thought. Something I will not have to worry about anymore since switching to the hei. The reluctor and magnet are replaceable in the hei and since there is nothing riding against it will basically it shouldn't ware.

Mitch, ever try "Rodman" brand drill bits? I got a set of them and they will drill through about anything. The guy that was selling them at the Iowa State Fair was drilling through a file with them in a drill press. They have some sort of really hard tip in them. The tip is hard enough to dress a grinding wheel. I had to buy a diamond wheel in order to sharpen them. The guy selling them stated he could punch 35 holes in a file with them untill it was time to sharpen.
