   Good afternoon all. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I need some recommendations on the paint work on the model G I am restoring. The engine is pretty much done. New seals and gaskets, new clutch disc, pressure plate and release bearing. New fan bearings, carb overhaul and tune up kit. Now comes the rest of the tractor. The paint being my next step. From those of you that have restored tractors I need your recommendations. What is the best method for removing the old paint? I am leaning toward paint stripper over sand blasting except for the arts I can remove from the tractor. Second: what colors primer would be best?  I would think that a red primer would be easier for the orange to cover thus taking less paint. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

	I used electrolysis for all the parts that'd fit into a plastic 45 gallon barrel as I wasn't in a hurry and well, it's cheap to use...... If you use a white primer, color coat tends to be brighter. Amount of paint needed depends on whether spray or brush, type of finish ( field ready or trailer queen ) and of course the credit limit on your credit cards

	I sandblast parts that do not have gaskets or oil seals. On other parts I use a needle scaler on the compressor, then use 220 grit sand paper to remove everything else. Use lots of degreaser! Then I apply a couple of coats of grey primer. Between 2 and 4 coats of orange - until I am happy (I am pretty particular). The more parts you strip off the tractor, the better job you will have.
