Hello.I've got an old blade for the D-14 and noticed that the big (2 1/2")C-clip that's supposed to be up front on the main solid shaft is, well, missing!! Is that the ONLY thing holding the blade on???? Right now the tilt adjust is a bit bent backwards.
If I take off the tilter, will the whole blade fall off?
I need to rebuild the whole unit.....just when I'm trying to finish painting my G.
Thanks for any help.
Jay

Jay,
Yes that big C clip holds the blade on to the hitch that goes to the tractor. To take the blade off, you need to pull the hitch forward after you take the C clip off. Here is a picture of my blade when I was working on it and shows how it comes apart.
