Bought new from Davarn Equipment Sales, Pewamo, Michigan by Harold cook, Pewamo, MI. Tended the 150 acre Cook farm along side a Ford 601 Diesel. Over hauled with a D17 kit in the 1970's and now requires 2 6volt batteries to start in the winter. My grandfather Carl Schrauben bought it in the spring of '81 for $1000 with a #3 Sickel mower, a set of tire chains, and a heat houser. Grandpa added a #17 loader that had a 42" dirt bucket and a 6ft scraper blade. The blade had skid shoes and was real nice for cleaning up brush after cutting wood. The sickel mower was around until 95 when it was junked. The heat houser was used quite a bit in the 80's and 90's, then sat in the barn. We used it one more time in 2004 or 2005 and then junked it because the frame was wore out and there were too many mouse holes in the canvas to patch. The chains where only used one year and sold because they beat up the fenders. I put a blade and heat houser on every winter to plow snow. Also plow a few neighbor's gardens and plow, plant, and tend a 25 acre deer food plow I share with a neighbor.
