Opinions on Gleaner M 75 or 76 model

   Just looking for opinions (good and bad) on the Gleaner M combine.  I have been looking for a good 6 row machine as I am picking up some acres.  I found a pretty decent looking machine localy.  It is either a 75 or 76 model judging by the decals. Diesel, 2wd, bin ext, a/c.  It comes with 15 foot rigid head.  Has not had a corn head on it for the last 20 years.   They also have a good 630 head for it.  I would be selling my F with 13ft platform and my A2 with 330 corn head if I bought it.  Will a M handle the 630 nicely or would it be slightly overkill for it.  I also have a chance at a 6600 JD with 20ft platform (SCH cutterbar) and possibly a 6-30 (943 maybe) head for it as well.  From what I read the 6600 is a little underpowered with a 6-30 head though.  Any particular areas I should look over really well?

	M is much more combine than a 6600. It will handle a 6-30 fine for power, but if yields are high and you have hills you will have to drive slower to keep from loosing grain over the shoe. Hydro transmission would be nice, but the belt drive was better on the M/L than the F.

	Oops forgot to mention its a hydro. We don't have a whole lot for hills around here. Some, but what I am looking at (at the moment) is pretty much flat. Thanks Adam

	m hydro on flat ground with dry corn will fill wagons in a hurry.

	My dad gets his M2 out when he wants to help us harvest. It will handle a 430 (all we have for it in working condition) at 4 mph in 160 bpa corn. He for some reason drives along at 2 mph. I like it when he goes to the other side of the field and stays out of our way. Sure uses a lot of fuel at 2 mph for what it does. Your machine with a 630 will be ok, just if you get into high moisture corn in a big yield you will have to go slow is all as it can not separate it out if you don't.
