I’m wanting to restore the original orange shine to my D21,220 and 7030. What product would be a good option? I’m not wanting to repaint.

Gubbells use Meguires products, they posted some pics recently of 3-4 tractors with original paint that they cleaned up, they turned out very nice. Not sure what they do for the cast areas though. If I remember correctly, their post was about original paint, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

After a good hand washing using a good sponge, I’ll try applying rubbing compound like a wax(small circle scrub, let dry, then polish off). If results render partial oxidation removal streaks, then I’ll repeat another rubbing compound treatment. Once I’ve removed oxidation, then I apply a good wax.

plain good old turtle wax paste thats what i use , dosnt matter what you use it wont happen without effort

I have used Flitz. It is similar to rubbing compound. In severe cases, I`ve used real fine steel wool to loosen dead paint. Finish by putting on Maguires liquid wax. It will shine and clean additional grime and wipes off easy and does not leave chalky film in grooves and seams. Buff and enjoy. I'm

if you are re-painting...use "the wet look" additive to your paint. if just wanting to shiny up the old...use Ajax in warm water and a sponge not a brush, rinse well, let dry, wipe with soft towel, then wax. a good paste wax is better than the liquid.

oh...and some dealers use "color back" on some of the equipment, it does work, but i don't know how long it lasts. it's easy to apply.

I've have restored the original paint on my D17 IV diesel. Pictures on Facebook. Used Meguiar's products. Some SOS pads, Meguiar's fine cut, heavy cut, finishing with Hi-tech yellow wax. Lots of work but I like original tractors best. Shows a lifetime of care and history.
