Hud, not sure if you got my email or not but I received the pictures.  Is it possible to get a higher resolution picture without the air cleaner emailed directly to me?  I need to see how the cables connect to the carb

  Thanks

Actually, I just went through this same ordeal yesterday. But it's on a JOHN DEERE 420. Would that help?

I know what the correct routing is and it would be easier for me to be able to send the pictures to your phone, so PM me if you still need em. I'll be on later tonight. Edited by Les Royer - 17 Apr 2016 at 9:24pm |

But it's actually quite simple really. And when I tell ya, yer gonna go well heil. Why couldn't I see that? Cause that's exactly what I did.  had to go through about an hour on the dang computer before I found sum pickshure showing the correct routing.

But here's how it goes on my JOHN DEERE 420. The choke cable goes through the firewall. If ya look at the firewall from the front, I got 4 holes left to right. The choke cable goes in the 2nd hole from the right. Now this is looking at it from the front, ok? And thar should be a grommet in the hole. If thars not, you need sumthin around the cable to protect it from thet sharp steel. I just bought the grommet. From thare it goes across the top of the motor and around the dipstick tube and into the cable holding bracket from the front of the tractor. I hope you got the heat sheilding there otherwise yer cable be riding on the muffler. And it ain't gonna last very long if ya leave it that way. The throttle cable goes from the lever around the OUTSIDE of the firewall and into the govenor linkage. so it's positioned between the firewall and the side panel. |
