Grandson works at the tire store . Guess they were cleaning up and he found a Echlin carb kit 2-5752A , and a old Wix cartridge style filter . No p/n on the filter . He told me they're really old and I can put them on my shop display shelf . Guess when you're 18 they are pretty old ? Kinda funny ? Thanks !

Back in 64 I was working in a full service station (I had worked there for few years before going in the Navy) and he was closing as building was sold .
We clearing out 20 years of collections owner had saved - I saved a big stack of gasket kits and couple cabinets -
You know I still have most of them gaskets - never have used them  - but One of These Days . Just like the partially used gasket kits of 8V71 Detroits that occupy space on my shelves

Wink I hope you have showed him what a carburetor is. LOLLOLLOL I have had more than one mechanic say "I don't know about those old things, never worked on one before". LOLLOLLOL They are real good with the computer controlled fuel injection. But never have done the "OLD STUFF".

Not all of course but surprising how many in todays shops don't though.

Yeah , he's seen carbs . He works on small engines , mowers , etc . He drove my old C-10 for a couple weeks and I showed him how to start it when it's cold . You don't just hit the starter . Thanks !

You would be surprised of the so-called mechanics that do not know how to drive a manual transmission.

several years ago i went to Auto Zone to buy a carb kit for a 2 barrel on a Chuby 350 motor ..... Kid told me that "automobiles" were all fuel injected.... Wink   .. I told him to look back on the computer to a 1965- 70 model C10 truck...... they had 4 kits on shelf... He had never seen one !
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Yeah Steve. I once went to AutoZone with my alternator in my hand. Kid asked if I needed a new starter. I mostly go to Napa now. Thanks
