It was a sad day for local Allis folks. The long time dealer in Missouri Valley, IA passed away about a month ago, and they had his sale today. He had been a dealer since the 50's. It is going to be strange not having the dealership around, for I have gone there since I was a kid. He officially had not been an Allis dealer since the early 80's, but he bought and sold A.C.'s and had lots of parts, and could still find what you needed. They are going to sell all his NOS parts at a later date. I stayed for about 3hrs. They sold some new stuff, lots of used, and in my opinion stuff went very cheap. I filled my dually truck for $104. I took a few pictures.

I haven't been thru there real often, but remember seeing an allis tractor (D17 I think) there at one time. I was wondering what that business was.

Sad to see another old-time dealership closing. I surely could use one of those gas tanks for my C, though!

Not sure but i think it was his dad, new Charlie for a long time, we would always bid against each other back in the 70's and 80's at farm sales on wds and wd45s that i bought and resold.Wondering what happened to him.

I agree it was sad, but Charlie was doing what he loved right up until very end. And he lived to be 87, which is a pretty good run. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

First that I'm aware of Charlie's passing. Had sold parts to himi different times in the past years. An auction like that is always interesting.

Brad was not listed on the on line obituary I found. I am sure they were related, how close I don't know. Dean

Spencer Auction company. Wasn't very good. Didn't know what he was selling, they didn't have things very organized, and seemed to have difficulty taking bids. I'm guessing that the pictures were taken before the auction got started, or when they were selling behind the shed. He had piles of stuff all around the lot/shed. Notice the first picture, there is actually parking in front. When the auction was going you couldn't park within a half mile. Were a number of people there.
