Do these numbers make any sense to anyone as to what I have found?? 1111558
OG25 I am guessing the first one as a S#, but not sure. These numbers came off the delco tag on the unit. It is JD green

That's the right length for a Delco part number.
The first hit with Alta Vista (I'm mad at google for not going to the link half the time) says: "Description of PERTRONIX 1121P12: For Tractor Models A, G, and 50, 60, 70 with Delco 1111558 distributor" which hints that distributor was used for at least some of all those models. I'm sure looking up details on a 2 cylinder page would find more. Gerald J. |

I'm coming into this a bit late, but the 1111558 is a good Delco Remy number which was used in the JD Tractors. JD: A,G,M, 40,50,60 & 70 Series. And it is for the 2 cylinder engines... HTH

Larry If I remember correctly the two cylinder johns fired both cylinders at the same time and in order to time and maybe even adjust the carb you pulled the wire on the number two cylinder . This will kill a petronix hall effect sensor. I hope my memory has that right.

They fired every revolution because I think that made the magneto run twice as fast for better spark. The off time firing was at the transition from exhaust to intake stroke so there wasn't much to burn. The 4.6 L Ford Triton V-8 does that to share coils and ignite any unburned fuel in the exhaust manifold.

thanks. I had the old B sold BUT , the mag decided to die and the guy didn't want it since it was not running. This came in a box of parts I aquired, but I wasn't sure it would fir where the mag is. I know nothing about a mag, and a little more on a distributor. The thing ran the day before, then nothing. Just a small faint spark. the left bank will not fire at all and the right one is was doing all the work. Like Eldon said, keep a green one around to sell if you have to sell something!!
