Good video about a '75 Hayes logging truck. What a beautiful rig! I used to work on these many years ago installing the logging rigs on the trucks. The Hayes was always a favorite. They were built in Vancouver BC.. I worked for a branch of the company here in Alberta. |

Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
So I’ll take a stab about truck’s approximate GVWR ~ 144,000 lbs ? 2-12k steer = 24k, 2-20k drives = 40k, 4-20k trailer = 80k. Edited by AC7060IL - 02 Jan 2025 at 8:53pm |

Most likely closer to 160K, 44-46,000 drives, 14-18,000 steers.

Twin Steer they both Steer. Generally the Rear axle has a Parasitic Hydraulically Connected gear, set at a ratio to not over steer the lead axle.
Kenworth has added this to their line up, so a Mixer truck can go 12 yards capacity without a trailing axle. Edited by DMiller - Yesterday at 4:04pm |

In Ontario this setup is good for 92,000 lbs gvw. They drive like a caddy. I pick them up at London Equipment and deliver to various locations around the province. Handle well and go around the roundabouts easy. 😀😀 This is International truck.

When I worked at CEI a couple trucks were built on Freightliner chassis. Twin steer under a cabover day cab. 30ft box. Twin screw and a tag. Neat looking truck.
