One can ask whatever they want - getting it sold might be a problem .
Now back in 1987 or so i bought my AC 715B with dig=more extend a hoe , full cab and 2,000 hours on machine , with all the service records on machine from a municipal city for about the same price .

I guess if  one went to Deere or Kubota for a small hoe on a compact that they would  easily exceed $8,000. ~  Orangeman

Kubota backhoe on the bx series is around $4k to $5k if I remember right. We bought a BX2380 and the salesman tried to talk us into one. I told him we didn't dig that many holes
