New to me Allis backhoe (think I-600), guidance?

Hello,Picked up a gas AC backhoe, and think it is a I-600.  SN on torque tube is nearly gone...

I have 2 questions I was hoping to get some help with.
1) When I first brought it home, the hoe would leak down and overnight the bucket would be resting on the ground.  Still does, but now it seems as though I can't extend it at all (i.e. to push it away from tractor/swing motor), it just bogs motor but doesn't move.  It will bring back up to tractor fine.  I can see fluid leaking down but the ram is mostly within the boom so hard to diagnose anything else.  How do I go about removing this, as I assume it will need to have seals redone by hydro shop?

2) It appears the hydro system overall is "weak".  I hung 1050 lbs off the loader hook, and it was not able to raise as high as it would go when fully unloaded.  Also if the bucket is fully dumped over, it seems it can't tilt it back up unless I lower the loader arms closer to ground. Before I assume the worst and there are issues with the pump (though seems likely), I think it is a good idea to change the fluid and are there any filters or screens that I should be checking also?  I assume if fluid was low overall height wouldn't be effected by weight?  I got an old operators manual off ebay but I don't see that in there????

Thats it for now.  Will also have to do something with the engine after as it doesn't seem overly happy, but not sure yet if its carb issues, ignition or otherwise.

	Low oil level , leaking internal flow on cylinders, pinched lines , low pump pressure, bad valve body , low settings of relief valves , Need to get high pressure gauge into system to see what pressures are - would also be nice to get a flow rating also but that can be expensive . Checking pump output would be first thing on list - well after finding out if there is enough oil in system .

	OK - 2 probably stupid follow up questions. 1) I have a 3000psi gauge I have for snow plow pumps, is that enough or no? Does it matter where exactly I plumb it in or no as psi should be same everywhere? 2) I see a spot on outside of right loader arm that has a plug it looks like. Assume I fill there? What kind of hydraulic oil does it take, and is there some kind of dipstick somewhere?

	3000 PSI should be fine - put a T in at different points of system as testing each . As far as oil - should use a NON Foaming hyd oil - 10/30 motor oil or Universal fluid . I have even used ATF in hyd system - whatever you can find at price you can afford will work .
