Hello to all--I've watched all you guys for a few months and have been helped quite a bit by all the knowledge you pass on to each other and to those of us just learning--My question relates to my WD--1952 --
My uncle showed up for sunday dinner and brought a crank shaft and a camshaft which he thinks came off a wd-45----and thought I might be able to use them in my WD to gain a little more power---
My problem is that he is 92 and sometimes his memory is not as good as it used to be--(I think mine is getting that way too) but--the casting numbers are--for the crankshaft--226531///for the camshaft--232533----
I have been unable to find either of these numbers in my "reprinted" wd parts book---

Any ideas on where to find out what these parts are off and whether they might work with my wd???

Any thoughts will be welcome--------

I've seen several of the 226531 crankshafts in WD45's and they are the 4 1/2" stroke. I've also had several folks say that they couldn't find that particular number in the book. Maybe that number is from a combine or something, but they are in WD45's for sure.  Rick

Thanks for the reply-----I'm a little afraid these parts might be from a d-17---I've heard that although the d17 crank will fit ,there is an issue concerning the thrust bearning(center vs front)--but I havent found anyone in my area that seems to know about it-----

Thanks again   jw
