I only lessen to news 5 days a week from local radio, so on Sunday evening I could be way behind.  There is a week old fire in Mariposa county just outside Yosemite Park.  Ok I googled Oak Fire and get a bunch on McKinney fire in Klamath National Forest Wink .  New fire to me 51,000 acres close to Yreka on the Oregon boarder.  Being federal you all get help pay the bill on this one. LOL

The Oak fire is about out a less than 20,000 acres but got a lot of "ranchett" houses and out building on 5 to 40 acre properties in the foothills of the big mountains.

The newer one is the real big BIG mountains.

My part of the state south and east could have trouble as we have Arizona monsoon making it this far west.  Any rain is generally more damage than good, but this all comes
with thunder showers. This started 1000 fires in a week 2 years ago. From what I saw the monsoon will stay south of the San Francisco area this time.

Ok Shameless you can go to     https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/2022/7/22/oak-fire/ , not what I really wanted as that is to the Oak fire . But that gets you in the door to snoop around as it is a government run site if look you can get dang near ever call CalFire gets.

Sorry my Wonderful did not get you a live link ether.  But google CalFire incidents they can keep you busy all day.

California is battling its worst wildfire this year with more than 51,000 acres burned and evacuations mounting.

Chaotic weather is threatening to make matters worse. Crews battling the McKinney Fire in northern California were bracing for thunderstorms and hot, windy conditions that created the potential for additional fire growth Sunday.

The McKinney Fire was burning out of control in northern California's Klamath National Forest, with expected thunderstorms a big concern Sunday just south of the Oregon state line, said U.S. Forest Service spokesperson Adrienne Freeman.

"The fuel beds are so dry, and they can just erupt from that lightning," Freeman said. "These thunder cells come with gusty, erratic winds that can blow fire in every direction."

I have a friend that retired ,(he is another Dale so must be a good guy) but wanted the big money his handyman bothers got from contract fire fighting. So got job driving water truck.  Last summer he was at the Shaver lake Huntington lake fire. It was the second or third day when called. Going up 4 lane to a sky resort. All lanes closed fire trucks sitting all over the place. Nobody allowed closer until the news crews got there and took all the pictures  they wanted.

Once on the job he was pumping water from a small stream when Forest Service people drive up and say you cannot take that water. Well he kept on disagreeing. but finally yes he would stop.Wink But the truck was full at that point, so he went the front lines to fill fire trucks. He had a number of run ins with Forest Service people from Washington DC to help. He was ready to come home after 2 weeks even with pay of almost $500 per day. But took his contractor almost a week to find anybody else that wanted to work 12 hour days and sleep on the ground.
