Came across these gauges that dad pulled off transformers that my neighbor had on flatbed years ago. They were going to scrap

Looks like it’s a recording thermometer. Should indicate the maximum temperature of an unattended piece of equipment, in this case, most likely a transformer.
Probably to tell if it was overloaded at some point in the past. |
