well i started at 6am today to try and avoid the heat as it has been 100+  for the last week.  it took me by myself right at 2 hrs to remove axles, bull gears, pinion gears, differential and transmission main shaft.   also did some pricing and found AGCO 3x price of aftermarket.  guess which i will be buying from.  Ignor the camera date.. new batteries lol..  this was TODAY

started this morning here
pressing axle, whatever i could scrounge for spacers lol
axle out pinion gears out
bull gears and diff out
transmisson main shaft
main shaft out with gears out.  all work to get HERE

Wow, I'm sweating just looking at your photos!!  What brought all this on? Worn gears? I remember speed shifting Dad's One-Ninety 37 years ago. I wouldn't even think of doing that now with mine. Thanks for the photos, and keep them coming in case I have to do one some day.

its a gear jumper.  was used as a loader tractor by previous owner,  i bought it cheap as a project.  will be replacing input shaft, 3rd gear and shift coupler, 2nd gear would probably be ok but im not taking chances since im in there.  also sliding gear and reverse gear getting replaced.  i confirmed all this by pulling shift cover before any major teardown was done.  like i said, it was a project to begin with and im a glutton for punishment. I am enjoying your photos. What aftermarket dealer are you using to get some of these parts?? Keep up with the photos as you progress along. Ryan

A&I products makes trans parts for several allis models, at a significant savings over agco parts.  My former boss is and A&I dealer so he can get me what i need.  I really isnt that bad of a job, i was apprehensive at first but its not extremely difficult just alot of steps to get into the tranny.  It may cost a little more than swapping back ends but ill have brand new gears and ill know the exact condition of everything inside including condition/tolerance of bearings.  If i was offered to repair one for somone i would do it.  of course im only going off the teardown experience,im not back together yet.  But i enjoy the satisfaction of  a job done well and knowing ill never have to worry about it again.

captain.. it only made it to 103 today.. cold front coming through lol
