Eddie(IL) wasnt the only one working on a D15. Here is mine.....1968 D15D Series 2 diesel with factory 3 point. Next to the last D15 built with a serial number of D15D-25418

Very nice job.  I gotta ask....how much are diesel D-15's worth?  There was one at an auction near here a while back but didn't get the chance to attend.

Got One, although not a series 4. I have a series 2 D17D waiting to come into the shop for restoration. Tin is pretty straight....will have to see how it is mechanically, may have to part it out.

Couldn't tell ya Stewart. I have a value book for antique tractors at the house which is what I based my purchase price of this one. Obviously, being diesel and factory 3pt made it worth more. Of all of the work I put in the motor, pump and injectors rebuilt, all new valves, guides, seals, pistons, rings, block and head decked and couter-bore reset plus new skins all the way around...IF I were to sell it, and thats a big IF, ..... lets just say I would have to have alot of money......

Very nice Don how long did that project take ,Sure Is a nice 15.I can believe that you have a lot into it because i have about 8k into my d1511 gas.and that was with no engine work.New tires all 4,all new hoses on loader,plus cylinder work.paint decals,ect.I bought It with only 1460 hours on it.I wouldnt sell it till i croak.Nine one Don.

Looks great!  I've never even driven a D15 gas, not to mention a diesel.  I was just wondering if all the diesels had the battery box there on the fender.  I assume that's a second battery?  Did D15 diesels have 2 twelve volt batteries in a parallel circuit, or two big six volt batteries in series?

I had a chance to buy a 1963 D15 II diesel, but I went for this 1966 gasser instead.  I have it around 70% restored and still pushing.  It should be as good as yours sometime in the summer...

Yes, all D15D used 2 batteries with the second one on the fender, both were 12 volt. The one the fender is called a starting battery. It is a group 29NF, which is actually now a classic car battery.
