Description
ATTENTION COLLECTORS!
This is a 1953 Allis Chalmers TG-24 airport tug or Shop Mule. IT has a Buda gas engine, manual transmission. VERY RARE - was modified by the USAF in 1958.
This pic is from the one in George Nesbits collection, but gives some spec info.

Cool and useful, I have a Clark tugger about that size, we use it for moving machinery around the shop, mine weighs about two tons and will pull a 30,000# machine on movers dollies like it isn't even there, off pavement though, be careful, no suspension and no ground clearance with heavy ply tires equals stuck in a hurry if it gets soft or slick.

This tug was in the George Nesbitt collection that sold last July. Mecum used it to pull all the tractors out of storage. Said it ran great. 153 Buda engine.

Bob, I may have caused some confusion posting that pic for ya,AND I Apologize for that.Guys the description I posted was off the auction site that bob bought his tug on. The pic I posted was from George Nesbitts auction pics that I found online.I just used that particular picture because it showed some of the specs that folks were asking about, that's all.I was not in any way implying that it came from the Nesbitt sale.Sorry if I cause any confusion.

Another Forum member, EdW, has one of those tugs too.  Maybe he'll chime in with pictures of his.
