Dad's 1950 WD he purchased new. Recently restored to look like this. I spent many happy childhood hours on that seat. Thanks to the forum members who gave valuable advice. Hope this posts OK; my first picture, hopefully thanks to a new computer.

Yes, still have a set of 2 row cultivators that were set to 30 in. long ago. I hate to think how long it took to cover the 75-80 acres of corn and beans dad usually grew, two times each year. Also have a no. 3 mower that came with it. Think that's the model, has a tail wheel. It came with a 2 bottom pin hitch plow too but that is long gone.

Glad I'm not the only one who likes to leave the cultivator brackets on the front!

Russ,
I felt the same way about my Dads WD when I got it done. When I see his great grandson driving it, I know I did the right thing! Keep those pictures coming now that you have figured out the new computer! Regards, Chris

Thanks for all the compliments. I really enjoyed doing the work. It's good exercise and a lot more fun than doing some exercise machine. Changing the tires was a lot of work but saves quite a bit of $$ as opposed to taking them to a tire shop. I painted the rims and a friend who does some paint and body work and is quite meticulous did all the orange parts in some of his "spare" time. I cleaned / striped / blasted and primered all the parts then took to his shop. All the bolts, nuts, washers and small parts I hung on wires so they could hang and be painted. Brought everything back home and reassembled. Miracle was that there were no spare parts when it was all back together. I'm not sure I would do another one to the extent of this one. Hate to take it out and get it dirty or scratched now. Will use the other ones for that.

Awesome looking restoration! I definitely can relate to the family connection you have with the tractor. I too have my grandfathers D15 and would not trde that tractor for anything in this world. Great job again....

Don't put off doing your family tractor or other equipment whether it's a full restoration or cleaning up and getting it running again. It brings back a lot of good memories while you are working and when you sit on the seat plus a feeling of accomplishment. I think Dad and Mom can look down and see us. A lot of mothers, including mine, spent a lot of time on those old tractors. Mom spent some time on the tractor with me before I was born.
