A friend of mine was doing over an oldJohn deere H and was trying to find some new grills for  it along with a hood.Well he found some that were pretty beat .He  could not afford to buy new so I stuck my foot in my mouth and said drop off the ones you got and I will see if I can fix them for you.Thats the last time I ever do that without looking first.Liking a good challenge I decided to do them for him .WHAT A PAIN IN THE BUTT they were. The hood was filled with holes ,dents and missing metal. The grills were beat and missing many parts of them.the rightside one was missing 8 inches of the lower portion of it.At first I thought it was joke but no he was serious .He is in his late 70s and has given me many parts for my allises and sold me some tractors a a very good price so I took on the task.I finally got paint on them thursday and he is coming for them today,But wow I can t wait to get those things out of here and I say never again .

Good job on that JD grill. I know how you feel as I get projects like that through my shop on a regular basis. If it's for an old friend it's hard to charge him for even a fraction of the hours involved.

Wonderful workmanship!  Even if it is the "wrong color", it's great to see old farm machinery of any brand brought back to like new condition.

John yes it is the wrong color and I got some green paint on me when I was cleaning my gun out and IT BURNED lol. I hate to see things scraped no matter what color they are .I have an old jd w116 baler that scrapers have been bugging me for  for yrs  but I can t scrape it .I finally put it on craigs list and a guy from Texas saw it and is coming up for it over the 4th of july.I was hoping that somebody would get it that would restore and enjoy it

Gary  We have my son's father-in-law's  JD A  on stands waiting on paint, blasted it last week, rain, lack of interest, etc.   The grill isn't as bad as yours, but!  someone cut a hole in the hood for muffler Stiener has a square  PATCH, Should be finished this weekend.  Then we can get back to ORANGE!

Allen D.: Make sure that the green paint doesn't create a moldy atmosphere for the sterile orange work!  Dave.

Hey Big G that looks great! I give you a lot of credit in the patience and artistic tallant department! I think I'd rather eat broken glass than take on that project buddy. Excellent job man! If you were closer, I'd keep ya busy myself with my stuff. And my stuff is in much better shape!  lol!

Nice work Gary. Now if I could just talk you into straighting out the radiator shell and hoods on a series 1 D17D. They're not that bad, I swear....
