If the serial is 156xxx it would be a 45.

Well I just got done unloading this thing and rolling it in behind the house.....I noticed its got all the stuff including the gauge for Traction Booster, some other odds and ends that will probably make their way onto my other 45....one thing this has I havent seen on a 45 is there is a rubber stop in front of the hand clutch....that it would go up against when disengaged....is that factory? Also I still have no idea on what those wheel weights are.

My lil sister has a 1955 WD-45 with the rubber stop on the hand clutch. Neither mine or dads does tho (55 and 56).

I think the rubber stop was added if you had the rock clutch release added to the hand clutch. Linkage from the snap couple bell would disengage hand clutch if you hit something plowing.

That may be right hers has another linkage that would hit the hand clutch. Most of the snap-coupler and drawbar parts are removed as its just used for pulling. The weights may be off a hundred series allis. Ive seen ones that look like that on 185s

This one does have the rock clutch....I got some pics I'll get posted later....check the Serial # and its 156948 and that makes it a 1953 like my other one....still not sure if Im going to part it or make it run....engine is FUBAR....its been apart for years, and parts and bolts are missing.

well its more than just an engine....needs all new rubber, one rear rim or fix the rim thats badly rotted in the usual place, lots of missing pieces....no hood, air cleaner assembly, other odds and ends.....anyone near PA have a cheap(er) running 45 engine, gleaner E, D17, or 170 engine? How about some usable rear tires....has 14.9x28's now but the left one has the tube bulging out of the inside of the tire.....yes you can actually touch the tube....the right is pretty rough and probably not far from looking the same as the right one.....front tires are the cheapest part I see to get as far as rubber goes.....

How common or uncommon are the rock clutches? After seeing the pictures I am 90% certain my WD45 has one.

Benny, that looks similar to my lil sisters tractor (hers has a lot thinner piece that would grab the hand clutch), If I had to guess is say hers is factory and yours is not. Im not gona guarentee anything tho. Dave Gibson, Have Dave L get aholda me maybe ya can stop down and look at it sometime. Not sure what your gona see being as the whole snap-coupler hitch is off it but parts are here and might give you an idea.
