I have my first piece of heavy equipment! a 1956 HD5. She ain't pretty, but she looks and sounds like she'll do the job. The old motor runs smooth as can be. Amazing to me really.
Right off, I need a radiator cap and a gas cap. Probably more, but those are needed now. Can anyone point me to some sources for these? My Google-Fu skills are letting me down a bit. Thanks! Mike

Any decent local parts house should carry a commercial sized(Semi Truck) Radiator cap, 4-7lb. Fuel cap is Pipe Thread but cannot remember the pipe size. Will need a loose fit and then vent drill the cap. Might try General Gear or Zimmerman Tractor first, Minnpar will have a p/n but do not count on a OE Style available.

It's a non pressure radiator - more old style gas cap type cap with internal wings to lock onto neck .
A 2" pipe thread on tank , I had a Peterbuilt fuel tank cap on mine for years and it fit great . |
