What are you guys using on the cork style front main on a model B to keep it from spinning in the housing. I put together a B motor and everything was good until last night the oil is RUNNING out of the front main seal. I looked in there with it running and the little cork seal is spinning with the crank

The retaining washer was not compressing the cork gasket. You should have had two cork washer looking gaskets in the set that has the cork front seal. It takes both to have the retaining washer to compress them. At least it did on any gasket set I have bought. If they are packed in correctly they will not spin.

Ok, got the seal figured out, except for the crank isn't centered in the seal.....probably why the cork seal didnt hold up. How do I get this centered....i tried moving the cover with the bolts loose but it doesnt wanna move

We have found a seal that has a rubber lip, plus felt, kind of like a duplex. The only bad is that it fits the WC-WD, so you have to bore the front cover out to fit it. That takes care of the spiral groove on the shaft. Dave.
