Got this vidio sent to me. For those of us into mechanics or do-it-yourself, this is a must watch. It's about 10 minutes long but I sat and just shook my head the whole time. Patience of a Saint and extremely  skillful!!!

OPERATIONAL V-12 DIESEL ENGINE  THAT FITS IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND.

This is not CNC technology; this  guy made everything at home on his lathe and drill press.  Took 1220 hours (a year and a half?) to make the 261 pieces.  Note the end-loaded crankshaft into the block (like an  Offy), 12 individual cylinder heads, TINY   rods and pistons, dual "underhead" cams with pushrods to  rockers in the heads.  And, he did break-in using an  electric drill driving the crankshaft!

Even if you're not an engineer,  you'll love this!

THIS  is  AWESOME !!!!

That's pretty amazing. I've built crankshafts for single and double throw presses before cuttin a lot of chips, but this is just plain COOL! Unbelievable amount of time and thought went into this!! Then you got the gears and timing to figure out along with making a camshaft with all those lobes.Approve
Thanks for posting.

I do have one question. Shouldn't there be at least one or two more main bearings and is the fuel air premixed like a carb?

Really an art piece.  I don't understand the fuel system, however.  There aren't any injectors------------is the diesel fuel just premixed and it burns whenever the compression gets high enough to ignite??  And that has to only occur when the piston is near top center.  It does run, though.

I was wondering if it runs on model airplane fuel.  Also didn't see the fuel system.  It is an absolutely beautiful piece of work.  I wouldn't even be able to put the screws in without messing it up!

Air, of course!  Still an amazing machine.

I think he read captaindana's problems with timing the injector pump, and decided a fuel system would be too difficult.

Amazing project.  Not many people would still have those kinds of skills anymore to put together both the design and machining.  Beautiful work.
