Mini alternator on pulley hub?

   Now that I ordered a new motor for my 620 snowblower chute, probably will have to generate some electricity to battery. (After lots of $, etc. stock unit doesn't work)
Been thinking that maybe I could put a flat cog belt on the hub of the driven pulley on the front pto, to power a mini alternator. If I did, the only time it wouldn't run would be when I use the rear pto for my 10 minutes a year rototilling.

Has anyone done this?  Don't really have the room for an additional pulley for an alternator.

Been thinking that a few years ago when I tried to fix my stator, etc. that someone had done this.

	Merle, I started to design an Alternator system for the 616-720 Tractors, but with as busy as I am with my job, my business, and taking care of the property, there isn't enough time in the day for me. And now with the colder weather moving in, that's really gonna throw the monkey wrench into things... Steve@B&B

	I'd have to see pictures of 'under the hood' to see where to cram, er, mount the alternator.... Google pix didn't show what I really needed to see.... One thing to consider is rotation ! Make sure it mounts the right way so the cooling fans cool the alternator.... Could a pulley be mounted on the rear shaft ? On a Ford LGT125 there IS room that way... I've been trying to figure out how to mount a small hydraulic pump on my B-112 (or other rider) to make a loader...not as simple though. Pumps don't like 'side load'..... Jay
