Folks,
This is only a warning and shouldn't be over a one page post! I have been driving by this CA for about 10 plus years. Getting more overgrown around it all the time! Sinking into the dirt each year! I stopped several times years ago and ask about it. No not for sale. Today on the way past I seen there was a garage door open and someone outside. Had a brain fade and turned around and went back. I didnt even look to where the tractor sat. I didnt even shut the truck off! I ask the guy about the CA. He says yea, might sell it now. I told him the normal prices for a running tractor and more if that have good rubber. I told him he can check prices as good as I can on the internet. He says, "Well not sure what shape it is in after the big willow tree fell on it"? Other guy says I think the machines setting next to it stopped the tree before it hit the tractor! Yikes. We went to look. I could see a patch of rear tire among the branches. The rest is buried under limbs. He took my number and said he would think about it. Wanted to get it out and look it over. Might call me in a week or so? I gave him a price of $300 as is under the tree with me removing the tree. That may have been way too much?? ![]() Anyway we will see. Not going to loose any sleep over it! I think Cheryl has always wanted me to have a CA:)?? But maybe I just dreamed that part? Me and the dog may have to live in the trailer if I drag another orange unit home. Humm wonder if I could have it running for the local tractor show on the 19th HuuuuuMMMMM???? No pictures on this one! Regards, Chris Edited by Sugarmaker - 06 Jul 2019 at 10:16pm |

Chris,
If he doesn't get back to you. I'm trying to sell one for a friend (plus 2 B's). The price is right (it's in the classified's) and Oregon is BEAUTIFUL, for a summer vacation plus, I'd sure like to shake your hand :) A Pacific Ocean CA, there is nothing like them, the rust is special ;) |

Chris, You will like a CA. Nice little tractor. I got one several years ago that needed some work. Is easy to work on because everything is on the small side and there wasn't any problem getting parts. Just fun to drive it around. Russell.

The Green one is a steal if you can get past the GREEN. UGH!! Green doesn't do a CA any justice! LOL! The rear tires are worth more than that..... Steve@B&B

Folks,
A update: Had a chance to view the CA (under the willow) again today. The owner is slowly cutting the tree from around the tractor. Rear tires not good. Engine oil looked to have water in it?? sheet metal dented from fallen tree, no hand clutch. Battery box not good. Tried to turn the engine over with fan belt , no luck, I think engine is stuck. Right rear rim looks like it might be ok? I think if folks gave you these types of tractors it would still be over priced!:) So the plan is he is going to get it uncovered and pull it out in the daylight. He mentioned my offer. Dang I thought maybe he had forgotten! The plot thickens! Also on a separate but related subject I took the D17 front tire to get repaired. While at the shop a friend said he might be selling his CA, if his son doesn't want it. Man I sure hope the son wants it! It runs, was honed and re-ringed 20 years ago. Is a wide front. Was in a fire and repaired. He just is getting older and doesn't need it. Dang these orange tractor are falling out of the sky! Do I have a sign on me or what! I can see it all now: A larger trailer to haul two antique tractors to shows and or pulls. CA in 2500 or 3000 class WD45 in 4000 and 4500 lb class. One can dream a little!:) No I forgot to get pictures under the willow. Regards, Chris Edited by Sugarmaker - 31 Aug 2019 at 2:19pm |

Folks,
The good and the bad. Mostly bad I think. Stopped and took a picture of "Willow". Sad. ![]() Oh Yea the bucket is deceiving, bottom is mostly gone. Pretty sure both rear tires are junk. Yep she's in there! Not sure how fast the guy was going?:) Tractor has not had any love in a long, long time. These are the ones that need to be brought back right! I think! About the only positive thing is that it is a narrow front and those rims are not in the dirt to far yet! Not sure why I am attracted to the narrow front tractors?? Maybe from my first drive on our WD when I was about 10?? Rear spin out rims might be OK??? Someone gave them a extra coat of white paint at some point. That paint scheme would fit right in too! Regards, Chris

It must be a fairly early CA , with the magneto mount conversion for the distributor.

Folks. Ctucker and Gary,
So what year/s might it be?? Doesnt look like it has a snap coupler. Has some type of 3 point, as the brush hog is still attached. I don't have much info on these CA tractors. So I had no idea on the mag to distributor conversion? A WD series I know a little bit more about those. We will see how this plays out. I am keeping my expectations EXTREMELY low!:) My quick view of it says it will need a complete engine rebuild, new rear tires, probably new front tires. Hand clutch is missing at least the handle is not there. The thoughts for something like this would be to make a 2500 or 3000 LB tractor for some local antique tractor pulls. That would put me in another class compared to the WD series tractors. It would bring my orange tractor count to 4. Seems I can only drive one at a time! So this is getting a little out of hand as normal in my life. Regards, Chris

I would guess 51 or 52 maybe. I'm not sure when they went to the factory installed distributor, but Snap Couple system started in 53 some time I believe. It would have the Traction Boost system, just not a gauge for it. |
