Max hp for a 180 and 190 chassis

Just wondering how much horse power can a 180 or 190 rear end handle. Can they handle over 1500hp

Id say an XT 190 series 3 rear end could,, I bought a 180 that had a 4 charger set up on, pulled the rear axles once and the splines were twisted a quarter turn,,, lot of stress there !

The 190 or 200 will handle more because the final drives are stronger. I know of several 180/185's that are in the 1200 HP range without failures and know of one that did completely destroy a final drive. Pretty sure there was a triple turbo 180 from Kansas that would have been 1500 ish and if he's still pulling it, it must be reliable enough to keep pulling it at that HP level.  Modern (easy starting) pull sleds and short bar rear tires play a huge role in driveline life. Any tractor/driver that can't figure out proper tire pressure and where the chassis weights belong will have unsmooth runs down the track. Smooooooth is gooood for the driveline.

Back in the 70s we were putting about 1500 hp into a Farmall M rear welded into 5th gear and twisted both rear axles like that. The main thing with higher horsepowers is to avoid the temtation to weight smaller tractors down to run in heavier classes, that is a sure way to invite desaster
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
