I see a lot of neat videos on youtube, where people piece video clips together, add music, add words, and the like. How do you do that? Is there a computer program you get to work with editing video, or do you do it right on youtube?
 
I'd like to learn how to do that, rather than shooting and uploading several short clips.
 
 
 
I'm assuming there are umpteen ways of doing it, but does anyone on here have any good first hand experience at it?

I have used the program "iMovie" to put several small clips together. Took a little bit to figure it out, but not too bad. 
I believe YouTube has an editing feature now as well, so maybe you can do it that way?

You-tube used to have a limit on the length of regular videos, I think it was 30 mins.,---None of mine were over 3 min. max. Don't know how anybody could ever get a long one on there. For us , a 1min. long one takes several hours to upload. I have 50 vids on there, started in 05, I think. haven't put any new ones up lately, ( no time or camera anymore).
Not sure about the edit stuff, back then you had to get a special program to do it, and they didn't work very well at all. We tried one and lost some videos in the process, so don't try anything important! thanks; ac fleet

My kids use go pro splice on their smart phone. It allows them to do what you’re asking by letting them add music and words! They started making videos showing our small farm the past spring, with more videos planned in the future. Marquardt Farm Brothers is their channel if you’d want to check it out. Kurt
