Didn't order a thermostat housing gasket(head to housing) for my D17 engine repower. Can I make that gasket and if so, what can I make it out of? Really want to get her running this weekend and can't source it locally anywhere.

Order one from your local AGCO dealer. They will courier it out to you (for a fee) and you will get it in a couple of days. You know it is the right one you need too.

I would go with the good RTV as suggested.
I recall the ole beer box gaskets deteriorating with time. |

Get your gasket paper, clamp the housing upside down in a vise, lay the paper on the housing and tap the edges of the housing through the paper with the round end of a small ball pein hammer. You'll end up with a perfectly shaped gasket that fits right. |
