He was my AC roots and My mentor. He is My Dad.

I was with him Friday and part of Sat. As I prepared to leave, even in his partial state of consciousness, He grasped my hand and squeezed it with his farmer grip, not a grip of a soon to be 92 year old. Held firmly, then a small smile and again closed his eyes. He was gone before I returned tonight. I knew we had said our goodbye. We were fortunate to have had him for such a long time.

Sorry for your loss Dale. It's good you had the opportunity to say goodbye. The last grip I had from my Dad's hand was to try and keep him from pulling the intubation tube out. We asked the doctor to remove it because he was fighting it so much. He just wanted to say his goodbyes, and couldn't talk with the tube in.
Now is a hard time to go through, good memories will help.  Charlie

Dale,
It is a sad time, but I am glad you got to say goodbye. I lost my Dad almost 10 years ago, and never got to say goodbye. We had planned to work on a forge blower the next day, and then I got the call at 2 am and knew it wasn't to be. Treasure the time you had together, I still miss my Dad terrible, yet still can feel his impact on my life every day. A real sad time for sure, I will be thinking of you my friend, let me know if there is anything I can do. Prayers from PA.
Glenn
