Ben,
Had one a few years ago. It was a 8360. Nice simple tractor. Mine had the cummins N14. They had the option of the Cummins or Detroit. Didnt really have any trouble with the tractor. Nice roomy cab, pretty nice layout in the cab. The only thing I didnt like was the shift in it. Its a truck transmisson,18 speed. The good thing about them with the engine and transmisson combo, you can always get parts at a truck place. I think there pretty good 4wd for the money.

Sorry but they do not have a very good reputation out here in big tractor country. If you are going to use it better buy a verstile. After 20000 hr still a very usable machine. Have not seen an agcostar make 2500 without real time spent in shop! Would be nice to have for collection.

Big210,
I agree with you on that one.I would have paid the extra to have the powershift. You had plenty of gears, you just had to find them. I am sure if you have drove a truck all your life it would be real simple. I haven't so it didnt work real good for me. I bought it at a Deere dealership, and that is why the guy traded it in for a deere. There is one around here that is painted orange.

If you can find a massy 5200 I think it used a powershift and should be able to put it in because its the same tractor. |

the clutch was the weakest link--a lot of guys tried to take off in the big gear and slip it--or ride it around the corner. Sorry the only pic of the orange on i have is not very good!uploads/4064/0407000831.jpg

I have heard the same things about them. My buddy's cousin around perry
NY has one. They love it. Good simple tractor. Easy to get parts for.
But the simplicity of it is what kinda killed it too. Agco wanted it to
be a simple tractor but they were 10 years to late as farmers were
starting to like the big fwd with powershift and all the creature
comforts. I guess only 500 were ever built. They did a few red ones also.

I've only seen one, first at the Colorado Farm Show in Greeley when they first came out and I'm pretty sure the same one last summer in a field 15 miles from the farm show site.
Somewhere I heard or read that AGCO was still building them in Brazil, guess they wouldn't think about importing them to NA as unless it says MF on the hood, it isn't worth trying to sell. My 2 cents |
