When you do a  "DISC CLEANUP" you want to get rid of all the old CRAP and updates on the computer... You DONT want to eliminate all the "passwords"... some "COOKIES" are good, some you dont need..

See if your computer is set to "auto delete" or CLEANUP  when you shut the computer off... Make sure the : delete passwords" is is NOT checked... Maybe allow cookies to see if that helps.

It may not be a WIN 11 issue... It could be a setting in CHROME or FIRE FOX that you have turned on...

this is what you see on CHROME when you click on the THREE VERTICAL DOTS in the top right corner...DELETE BROWSER DATA....  SETTINGS... then PRIVACY and Security below that....

OK...
click on 'History'....
click on 'Clear history'...
confirm ONLY 'History' and 'Temporary cached file...' are selected  ( have blue check marks)

This is how I've set Firefox up.

So when I 'clear everything', it KEEPS my logins and password stuff , 'aka settings and cookies'.

I find if you go from Facebook to any of those click bait sites then it asks me to login each time. Those ones that start with a sad story that never ends. Lol. I just avoid them totally now.

DJ.. you really need to  look at Firefox as in my last post to see what 'boxes' have blue check marks on them ! I suspect it's not setup the same as mine.
If it is, then, ugh, it's a Windows11 BS problem.....BUT Win should NOT be changing Firefox configuration. Win10 doesn't.

Well,,,Jay and Steve,,,I finally got CHIT full of fighting Firefox and Win10 and dumped the whole friggin thing,,,I DID,,!! So much for my patience, huh,,,??
I deleted Firefox and downloaded Google Chrome and so far have been able to struggle thru chrome,,,(way different than firefox) and figure where everything is ,,,,My youngest Son showed up long about then and he was able to help post some photos from a "folder" where they had mysteriously been moved to FROM my desktop and attach to an Email and move them along,,,not sure how he did that but done nevertheless,,,,,!  He also struggled locating those photos even tho I had taken them and downloaded them to my desktop  just 3 hours prior,,,,?? Frigging MS and his cloud,,,!!!

DJ

This PC HAD 'edge' and 'chrome' on it and first thing I did was put Firefox and tbird on it. It's been rock stable for several years now, last 4 with 'stopupdates' to prevent Windows from 'upgrading' itself.
I use tbird to access my 3 Gmail accounts. THAT took a wee bit of doing, but it's been fine as well.
You can easily go back to Firefox and import all your browser websites + bookmarks so you won't 'lose' anything.

Joe... i have had CHROME for about 3 years ever since EDGE would not put UPDATES because i had WIN7 on my OLD COMPUTER... When i got this new WIN11 computer and got it straight, i switched to CHROME again and it downloaded and transfered EVERYTHING i had done for the past 3 years.. Works GREAT....

What do you want a "HOME" button for ?   Where would CHROME go if you clicked on HOME ? .....or are you thinking WIN 11 HOME.. and where would that go ?

I have WIN 11 setup with my DESKTOP the way i want.. Tasks bar at the bottom with search / chrome / photo snip / file explorer and start icon.... Then i have a dozen icons on the DESKTOP to go to various files or programs.... If i open any program or go to CHROME... and then CLOSE that program, it automatically goes to my DESKTOP (  home page  ?) ..... When i am in CHROME i have a background photo and have  a few dozen links stored in 5-6 icons at the top of the page in the taskbar..... I guess my background Theme is my "home page" z/

re: HOME.. and where would that go ?

maybe back to the 'range'.....???Wink

'home' generally will go to the upper, left pixel of the current screen when using a 'browser'. At least that's what Firefox does.
In a spreadsheet, it'll go to the first cell, again upper left corner
In a 'word processor', it goes to the fist position in the current line the cursor's on.

Might be usefull on your  GPS unit to return to the main page... but not needed on a Computer...

I dont get any popups on CHROME either... Its all a matter of setting it up right... WIN 11 and CHROME work flawless for me.

you are going to get some IMBEDDED adds on some sites.. THIS site does that.. That is how the site helps pay the bills... There should be no POP UPS.. but you will see a few Imbedded adds.. not a lot.
