Gun background checks hit record high in June, a sign of booming sales, FBI reveals

The record numbers come at a time when the U.S. is gripped in a pandemic, an economic downturn and a racial reckoning over police brutality that has erupted at times into civil unrest

Bet it is mostly conservative types that are buying to ward off the gouls that are roaming these lands...
Heard today that protestors are going to protest in a local town of Siren.... Dam fools need to be escorted to a lake and dump them in attached to cement blocks... This county at last count had only two with covid in it... after these fools leave, you can count on more.
mmm,  maybe we need the local authority check their temps before they get off the buses for covid and any one has a fever, they all get escorted to where they came from....and notify the health officials there of them.

dam fools.

re:...

speaking of which... the stepson 'contractor' drove 6 hrs to Ottawa to join the protest against trudeau and of course another 6hr to get back supposedly 10,000 there.

you'd think if you were planning on being in your new home by Xmas you'd be looking into the DETAILS about HOW to build a house. even minor stuff like where's the well going to be, size of septic tank/bed, hydro location, gas locates, tree removal, 120 loads of clean fill, swale requirements, you know ....details.... oh yeah PERMITS ! and we have covid19 up here ...
it's going to be a fun 5 months

Time for vacation, lock the garage doors, change your name to carlous or salinimba or something and come down to the states and check out some new digs.... and apply for refugee status from queerbec or outawaawaa...
 Was just a thought.

Been on our local news as well, and NOT seeing more conservatives but the Libreturds that are desperate to get some protection, ONLY to find handguns have a Wait Period, and they must get training to use to get a CC License or to be proficient with one!! Went to a friends Firearms shop last month for some parts, had another customer in it. Guy was looking at everything, really liked the little useless pocket pistols where thought would be easier to handle. Buddy took him to his range (On his farm) and let him shoot a few test guns. Worthless shot, took forever to sight up, could not a bull in the butt with a bass fiddle. Buddy told him shotgun his best bet, point and shoot where the blast would scare the perps. Tried a 12ga, dropped it when went off, same with a 20, stated he thought by "The Movies" that it would be so easy. Went away no gun.

.44 magnum Derringer! I hung onto it, but it bloodied the hand between the thumb and forefinger

I've got 3, 45 Colts, S&W, Black and Redhawk's. The Redhawk I load to 1250 fps, with a 340 gr bullet. It's all I can hold on to but, it can be loaded hotter.

What I use is the padded mechanic's gloves, with the index finger cut off. It keeps the hammer from cutting or bruising you and softens the recoil but, you still have to really hang on. I always use two hands.

Also, make sure you have good grips, that don't let your finger go behind the trigger guard.

I gave up on wheel guns, stepped up to auto loaders not looked back. Really enjoy control they afford with better return to battery and second targeted shot capability. Have two 45acps, three 9mm and a 22 in semi auto. Redhawks I at one time had two, one in stainless 5.5" barrel, and a blued with 7.5" that I used close range hunting, both too heavy and awkward so were traded off.

Doubt it......those folks are mostly fully armed, and have been for years. Any buys by them is just tweaking and fine tuning.....and padding the supply of ammo.

My bet is it's the other side......finally coming to grips with the reality of the situation....how things are spiraling out of control. We reap what we sow and harvest time is coming.......for them.

What dufas needed was a .410 shotgun.......#4 or 00 buckshot. Getting to be as hard to find as a leftist with a shred of common sense.
