Looking for a place to make Large Aluminum Die cast parts. 18” diameter. Anybody got ideas for North American source. Will need tooling also.

If you are building multiple parts and can pay for DIES to be made, thats one thing... IF you building 1-2 parts, its normally cheaper to sand cast the parts... I dont know the shops, but there use to be a variety or places that would make a plywood part, then use it to build a sand mold, then cast the aluminum... They might not be able to machine the parts afterward.. If your talking lathe and milling machine, a local machine shop might do that.

I don't know exactly what their capabilities are but there is a foundry here in Golden City MO. Google says the number is 417-537-4922. If that doesnt work I know the owners and can get you in touch with them.

Piece count will be 500 to start. And repeat orders probable. Got a price several years ago for offshore (China) tooling; it was more than $75000.

Steve, thanks for the video. I used to do that back in high school. I burned a lot of fingers doing that. Hot steel is orange, but aluminum is always silver. I am a slow learner.
