After chasing details and one thing after another,,,,, Well,,The Dialysis center wanted the wife to get a "Fistula" done for future dialysis points,,so I had taken herto the alien town to get a "VEIN MAPPING" done two weeks ago and they were susspossed to scheduled with the Main Hospital,,,right across the friggin street,,,Thats when the HUGE CF started,,!! first they scheduled the surgery on a Wed,,even after I told them her Dialysis days were Mon, Wed, and fridays and they KNEW you are not suppossed to deviate from scheduled days for Dialysis, I called that girl 4 different times to ask if they had a new date for surgery and she told me 4 TIMES that she was workingg on it,,the lying little sob,,!! This morning at 7:30 AM,,,the hospital calls me that we had NOT gone to Pre-register her for the surgery and the next available date would be in mid February,,,,WTF,,???? That means first of the year with new deductables and Co-payments to be met JUST because a PIZZ POOR example of a person did not do her job likw she was suppossed to,,,,!!! SO,,,I get Joyce outa bed at 8AMK and haul azz to Roswell Hospital to get all the paper work done,,,her labs drawn for testing, and prepare her for surgery@12 noon. As of 11:30,,we still did not know they were gonna be able to do the surgery. I was so friggin MAD I called their office and asked to speak to a supervisor and I told her I was gonna do my best to get her lazy azz fired if this did not work out... The little girl called ME an hour later and she tells me,,,,," I thought I had done the scheduling" What is the matter with the younger generation these days,,,,?????

Dang Joe, that is more than enough to pizz you off. They sit there and do their nails, post on facebook, and whatever else instead of working. And they don't give a rat's arse if the patient/family suffers because they are too lazy to do their job. Hope everything turned out okay.

Hubert,,That is exactly how it came down,,,,!! That young girl (very early 20's) actually answered 3 texts from ??? while we were suppossed to be completeing the pre-registering,,,,,I've settled down to where I don't want to slap the snot outa her,,,but I think I still want to talk with her supervisor because she called me while I was in recovery with the wife and then lied to me Again to try to tell me that she "THOUGHT" she had finished the re-scheduling. Anyway,,Thanks for your concerns,, The Wife is lookin good this AM and is startin to be able to lift her left arm a little,,, so far so good,,, |

Joe you've got the patience of Job ! Had I been there, here's what I'd I've done 1st text... inform the kid...'please do NOT answer texts, put the phone away' 2nd text.. I TOLD you ' PLEASE do NOT answer texts, put the phone away' 3rd text...grab phone, I TOLD you ' PLEASE do NOT answer texts, put the phone away' I have ZERO tolerance for ANYONE who answers/plays with their phones during 'transactions' with me. It is RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. That she did it in a hospital, is inexcusable. Couldn't have been business as all that is done via phone, fax or computer. you got a permit to carry ? |

I and a Friend I worked with had ALL of our Pre-approvals and Pre-surgery matters confirmed as complete, WITH letters from the Insurer as to that. We both had the SAME type surgery one week apart, Mine was paid for his was refused for payment.
I then had a second issue arise where went thru ALL the Wading pool garbage PT, Investigational reviews, doctors inspections and recommendations from THREE individual physicians, Insurer stated Investigational and Experimental Surgery NOT Covered. Surgery is a 90% positive rate with 18 years of Documented records proving validity. Comes down to a "I don't wanna pay" aspect of the insurer. I blame this on ACA or Obummercare instigated Crap. Very sorry to hear this is affecting you all as well, is becoming Rampant with Insurers and Clinics. Edited by DMiller - 19 Dec 2019 at 7:21am |

Joe,
The hospital and insurance racket is bad enough but poor customer service is not helping us folks that need help get it when we need it. Your doing a good job being a advocate for your wife. The system doesn't care! If your so sick that it might make there numbers look bad they don't want to deal with you! Regards, Chris

Joe, I'm praying as hard as I can, I hope the good Lord is listening and granting things for others. After all, it is Christmas. I pray everyday for you and Joyce.
You are a GREAT husband and care giver and I hope the days ahead are a lot better for you. Jay B, you said a mouthful!!! The younger generations (yep, almost anyone under 35 are SO RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL.... I'd like to kick some azz sometimes too. |

Something about brains created after the WWW came into existance. They don't understand TALKING ON A PHONE. Some how they think a text is the best, but my old land line cannot handle that. No cell service at my house,no cell you must not count don't need to deal with you.
Made the mistake and given cell number to several people. My wife that goes to town several days a week will find 3 day old messages. Sorry for your troubles Joe. Been that route of sitting around the hospital waiting for all the paperwork to come together. After you get there before daylite cause they said 5 am and they come be bopping on in at 6.30. |

DJ. Good luck with everything. My old gal is going thru heart problems, started last March. If that ever happened to us, I guarantee they'd be calling horsepistol security and hauling me outta there in a paddy wagon. As my old army buddy always said keep a cool head and a tight hold on things. As I said good luck. Hoping you and the Mrs get thru this and have a s Merry Christmas.

Well,,Many thanks to all of ya'll,,,,I'm a tad cooled down but still pretty upset,,,,,as the Dr that did the Fistula surgery talked to me right before we left the hospital and told me I should not be so upset with Jasmine as she was teying to do her job and the real problem was that they were so short handed all over,,,,I'm thinkin that is BS as his wing of the main hospital is certainly NOT understaffed. HE is the only'ist specialist there and this with a "staff" of 4 secretaries, 3 nurses and one office manager,,,!!!!!AND,,,,AND,,,most of THEIR paperwork is done by the secretaries in the MAIN hospital,,,,!!! He also told me he was leaving next month because of HIS wing being so understaffed,,,,!! WHAT,,???? A support staff of 8 people for one Dr,???, Chit,,some of those somebodies ain't doin their friggin jobs,,thats for sure,,,, I remember when a nice Cushie job like that would be a "Prize" for anybody and one to certainly take care of,,,,but does not appear to be the same any more,,,,sigh,,, TOM,,here's hopin your wife does lots better,,,there are many great advancements in heart surgeries so keep your hopes up,,OK,,??
