I didn't get to see this in person, but my uncle video taped my Grandpa (who will be 84 years young in 2 weeks) taking off wheat with his combine he bought new in the '60s.
The first picture with the red barns you can see, is where he grew up and farmed for years. Not too many JDs around the farm, but his combine happened to be 1 of them. Most all the tractors were Orange and still are to this day. Very cool video, hope you all can watch it. Grandpa and his combine, still taking crops off years later. Can't beat it!

Very nice video, even if it is Deere. The 45 through 105 were good combines from everything I've been told.
Only problem...the video seemed pretty mind boggling for me, with pictures on both sides merging in the middle.

Great video. With the pictures merging like that made me think I had consumed far too many adult beverages. And I gave up drinking those a long time ago.
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

Love that red barn on the farmstead in the background.  Classic farming!

I was able to watch the video on a different computer....Brings back memories, we used to use a JD 40 combine. It doesn't look like that 45 is any bigger, just a newer model with some slight changes? Haven't researched it. Nice to have a memory like that recorded.

that combine was a newer version of the 45 combines, called the square backs. the older ones were the round backs. and that machine was built for "edible beans", that's what the EB stood for. my first combine back when I came outta H.S. was a 45 round back. it was a good little combine until the local dealer messed it up, guess he was hoping i'd buy a newer machine from him. it started on fire and burned right after coming from the dealer. a gleaner came next.
