I finally threw in the towell with my slow landline ISP (am situated in the country where a shot at something like a grain elevator etc is also not available).  So I went with Starlink and beside the cost, what  an unbelievable fast and powerful hook up.

If I now drop the land line service, will that botch everything up concerning mine and the wife's addresses?  Right now, the land line is unplugged and the old addresses are working fine using the satellite service?  I think all will continue fine but do not want to create a disaster with all the old addresses that have been used for years that have @consolidated.net on the addy.

Dave, you MAY have a problem...,  i got a little story... We had FRONTIER phone and internet for 30 years.. Finally dropped the "PHONE" and just had internet over the land line.. Got slower and slower over the last several years... We finally dropped them and went with satelite link..... Fwe months later my PASSWORD got deletet from the FRONTIER server.. Called to have it reset... they said NO becasue we were not paying a monthly bill for "their" service......... Ended up getting new E-mail address with GMail it is free... same with Yahoo.... etc ......... Not sure whay FRONTIER wanted to CHARGE for an account, but they sure were not interested in supporting us after i stopped paying.

might be worth asking Consolidated if you have to be a MEMBER to use their Email..

Son has the same Frontier e-mail and has not paid anything for several years... His email still works... ( maybe becasue he has never asked for a password update)...

-------------
No, you do not have to be a current subscriber to Frontier to maintain an existing Frontier email account, but you may not be able to create new ones, according to a Reddit threadFrontier has transitioned its email service to Yahoo, and existing customers can continue using their accounts, even if they move out of Frontier's service area. However, according to a Reddit thread and other sources, Frontier no longer provides new email accounts for new customers.

--------- internet search-------
Therefore, for residential customers, a Consolidated Communications subscription is likely a prerequisite for having a Consolidated Communications email account. However, for businesses with specific setups, there might be exceptions.
To confirm definitively, it would be best to contact Consolidated Communications directly. They can provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding their email service requirements and eligibility

thanks Steve.  Ummm I am reluctant to raise a red flag with consolidated.  The stuff may go down hill rapidly after that.  So your reply seemed to leave me with a maybe/maybe not.  Confused
