I-60 Backhoe removal

Has anyone removed the backhoe attachment from an I-60? I don't always need it and would like to use the draw bar on occasion. Plus a valve for the dipper cylinder won't move in one direction and it would be easier to get at with the attachment off. 

It looks like it would be fairly simple. Remove a couple of hydraulic lines and then possibly 4 pins holding it to the tractor?

WE have a CASE 530 and have done it a couple times... Similar to what your thinking... Park and put the outriggers down... Stretch out the arm a bit and put the bucket on the ground... Pull the 4 pins / bolts out of the arms attaching to tractor .... Use the outriggers to lift a little if you need to get freeplay in the pins.... When all 4 pins are out, shut off the tractor and then remove the two hydraluic lines..... might help to set a block or so under the center section between the outriggers so the body has something to set on if it settles down, or you loose  outrigger pressure when removing the hoses.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Decades ago I use to have a H3 crawler loader/backhoe. I guess they made the hoe easy to dismount because the weight of the hoe on the back of the crawler really affected the performance of loader operations. It was set up on the mount so you could remove or reinstall the hoe in less than 10 minutes. I was working on developing a ski area at the time so the crawler was superior to a tractor when working on the slopes.

Years ago I had an I-60 that I would remove the hoe from. Used the hydraulics to take the slack off the top pins to remove and then used the outriggers to lift the hoe out of the bottom hooks. Drive forward a few inches and set the hoe on a good block. I installed quick couplers to join the hoes together with the smaller one "T"ed in. It's been 45 years so the details may need so field adjustment. Traded for a 715 in 1977 and again for a 715B in 1987. Still have the 715B. Great machine

There are instructions in the Operator’s manual. It says you need a “special fitting” that shipped with the backhoe. Does anyone know if this fitting was special (like it had an orifice in it or something) or is it just JIC to pipe thread or something?

I had a HD4 with 650 hoe attachment that mounted to tool carrier , 2 top pins and had 2 bottom pins (I replaced them with 1 1/2 " round stock) to drop into tool carrier hooks .
 The hydraulic system used quick coupling in lines feeding the hoe valve body and a diverter valve to direct flow to hoe or loader valve body
