Help a guy restore a 1950 one back in Vo-Tech late 70's. Then he paints it modern metallic blue. Looked OK I guess from a distance but definitely not right when up close.

Interesting there! I was at HD today as well, all I seen was Black Spandex, that should not be worn were it was! Just like the truck, there should be weight limits on some thing!

Nice truck! Looks like a '49 or '50 with the 5 window cab. Dad had a '49 that had a 261 engine in place of the original 216 or maybe it was the 230.

Thanks for fixin the pic. I uploaded from my phone and when I put in the size I guess I got the numbers a little off! It was a beautiful day and then when I saw that truck it just made it all the more enjoyable.

You had a hot rod with that 261! 216 babbit beater OEM. Next upgrade would've been 235 B/beater. When powerglide came out they built pressure oiled 235 for it. Pretty sure the 261 was pressure oiled precision brgs from day one. Helped brother put a 261 with a cam in his 40 chevy 1/2 ton....they like to crack pistons at high rpm.

most of them got a 235 pressure oiled swap around here. it was real common in farm trucks. going to a 230 wouldn't have been easy!
