The comet Neowise is visible at about 9:30PM. My eyes spotted something, binoculars
reveals it as a fine looking comet.  In the Northwest, below the ladle of the big dipper, about 10 degrees above the horizon. At 10pm it set under the tree line.
Supposed to be 3miles in diameter.
Will be gaining altitude each night, so will be moving into darker sky and up longer.
They think it may peter out, so I wouldn't wait too long.

I've looked for it a couple times, but I haven't seen it yet.  I think it's too low to see with all the trees around.

I got up at 4am last week and it looked great with binoculars. After I found it I could see it with just my eyes. Pretty cool.

I looked last night but didn't see anything like that. That's a cool picture. I had binoculars out and saw something pass through the big dipper and then couple other objects cross paths with it. Satellites?

Fellows, you have to look a little left of due north at midnite to 4 am about 30 degrees above the horizon.  Gotta look hard for it but once you see it, you can see it with just your eyes.  The news talks about the big dipper but that is far above an left of the comet some at midnight.
UnhappyTried hard to get a picture of it but the electronic cameras wouldn't see anything even in night mode through a 1000mm Celestron Telescope with a double multiplier on it.   And my old film cameras are not real conducive to posting pics to the web from them, where you hold the shutter open to allow enough light in..
So... to show you gents what I seen, I had to Cry 'barrow' a photo of this comet from the web that was as close in position and looks as I seen, then put it through a picture program and darken it down to the color saturation to near of what I saw it as. Wish I could have captured it on my own camera and then posted, but ... it didn't work out that way.
I have seen it for the last three nights now... and it is still awesome just to see it as compared to what my grandfather said when he saw Halleys Comet back in 1910 where it lit up the night sky when it passed through. Halley must have been amazing. When I seen Halley, it wasn't as magnificient as this Neowise is... well that I remember.

Saw it again last night, but the clouds hid it pretty quickly.
Find the pot of the big dipper and look below that 10-15 degrees off the horizon.
9:30 to 10pm.

Didn't see the comet last night, but sure had a lightning show last night, and some house rattling thunder.

Yeah, I felt it too..... I didn't even know about the comet until today.  Supposed to be some more ugly weather here, so I'll have to wait till after all the storms go through. Should be pretty easy for me to see at night up at the farm as it's pretty dark up there.
