Today I took a quick trip to the local TSC for a piece of 3/4" square stock that I needed for a project. Of course being TSC, Tough$hitCharlie The Shelves are Clear, they had nothing that I could make work for what I needed.
So I get on the 4 lane to head up to the ACE hardware store in Thurmont. I should have gone there first. A few miles up the road a FORD P/U comes up behind me (the speed limit isn't fast enough for many people) and for the first time ever the driver actually knew how to drive in daylight without the HI BEAMS on. I was about to think that anyone driving a FORD truck was too stupid to know how to dim the headlights after moving the dimmer switch from the floor to the combo lever with the turn signals.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Could you tell if the driver was holding a McRib or if there was any blue fluid in the oval while you were waiting at the light for the "STO" to pass through.

Driving around with the high beams, 24/7 must be a birthright here in Texas, no matter what breed of truck.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

I couldn't care less of which brand outsells which or what others think, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm just stating a fact from what I've observed in the last 50 years and well over 2 million miles of logged driving, not counting the miles in a personal vehicle. On any given day on any trip I take I see more Ford trucks with Hi-beams on during the daytime that any other make. Most now with LED headlights are so bright that you see spots after they've passed as if you looked at the sun. Also when they are approaching with bright lights that are too bright, a person cannot see that they have a turn signal on. As for anyone that thinks it's OK to drive around in Daylight or at oncoming traffic with Hi-Beams on, you should have your drivers license revoked.

Why would a SPECIFIC BRAND of vehicle have all their drivers, drive around with hi beams on during the day ?? During the day i can hardly see headlight... too bright.. If they are on during the NIGHT thats different. Never had a problem with headlights glare during the DAY.

Up here in Ontario, you need to have working 'daytime running lights' to get a safety and a tag...after that, most everyone pulls the DRL fuse..... yup, 100% legal and of course DEFEATS the SAFETY aspect of why they were required...

Daytime lights have been required for a long time, don't recall what year. Never spoke to a person EVER who was bothered enough by it to pull the fuse!

Everything has running lights... Even Chevy.... I dont see how headlights bother you during the day. Its so bright outside you really dont even notice them.... originally they used the headlights as running lights ( 1990s) ... now they have seperate lights built in around the headlight for "running lights".

We've got a bunch of idiots running around here that have LED light bars on the roof, hood or the grill and I'm here to tell you broad daylight or at night they will blind you either meeting them or when they come up behind you.

Ford's daytime running lights, along with all other brands, are just that; DAYTIME running lights. There is no bright or dim setting to them unless you turn on the regular headlights.
Most manufacturers run low beam lights for daytime. Some models use alternate, dedicated daytime lights.

We took a 400 mile round trip to visit a friend Saturday and drove partly in the dark to and from. The number of drivers that don't dim their lights at night is astounding to me too. Think they just don't have any respect for other drivers. Then there are those that don't turn their lights on when it starts to get dark, especially those in dark colored vehicles. Just one of my little rants.

It seems that people flash their high beams at me every time I either, have something quite heavy in the truck or, if I am towing a trailer.
My truck has automatically dimming headlights, that dim immediately, so I am not giving them high beams.

With a load or trailer on it changes the angle on your headlights. You could put air ride on it to get the truck to ride level,

I don't like the design of the ford super duty trucks that have 4 headlights on when the low beams are on. It makes you think they have their high beams on.

Maybe it's time for Paul to just stay at home or call a taxi cab. Good Lord. All the things that are wrong in this world and we have a rant about his perception of drivers of Ford pickups ???
