Wondering how you AC folks and others are faring in the south / southeast. Sounds like a major, major disaster in some areas. Prayers for all those involved who have lost loved ones, homes and belongings.

Didn't get nearly as bad here as they were expecting here. We got between 8 and 9 inches of rain but the wind stayed fairly calm compared to what they were expecting. I've seen a few videos of other places and yeah they're bad. Flooding and trees/buildings down from wind. Not a pretty sight

neighbor has a daughter in Asheville, NC, all roads and expressways are closed, no power or cell service anywhere in the area, now they are having landslides on the mountains blocking what little movement was there. Travel ban and curfews in effect.
Pictures we saw this morning show most of the lower areas under water.

Our power came back on about 9 AM today. It's been out over 48 hours. So glad it's on! Large pine blew over and clipped the front corner of our house. Also a large oak tree in the front yard blew over and the root ball snapped the gas line. About 5 AM Friday when this happened. Gas spewing in the air for 5 6 hours before capped off. Not good! Lots of similar damage around here. Could've been a lot worse
Thanks

How much damage is there to unharvested crops in the hurricane area? What about damage to harvested crops in storage?

So far, the media coverage on this has been abysmal(imho). At this point after Hurricane Katrina, the media was having conniption fits. Let’s pray for all those affected.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Media is probably keeping an eye on trump in case he actually does something that is noteworthy.

Our daughter is about 5 miles from us and they still don't have any power
Granddaughter is here with us. Daughter does have a generator, but it won't run the air conditioning. Maybe today?

Sadly CNN (Crappy News Network ) and the POTUS is more  interested in the middle east than the south.

Hopefully we got power back on at the farm today. The town and other areas got hit pretty bad but we had no major damage at the farm. We didn’t even lose power at the house above Athens. Western NC was devastated and parts of SC had a lot of damage. I will be cutting a bit of firewood when the weather cools off.

I’m going to guess that anywhere that got wind above 50mph is gone…
Bins can’t handle water or 100 mph wind, the top will blow off if full, if empty the bin won’t exist…
Just saying…
I hope the farmers had insurance….

Supposedly we got power back at the farm this morning. It was on when I got there mid afternoon but went back out. Maybe tomorrow we will have it back. I have the refrigerator cleaned out and the water heater off so everything should be okay.

The damage in parts of western NC is beyond belief. I talked with a friend who took supplies up there this week and the aftermath is getting worse by the day. Apparently the “news media” ignoring just how bad it is. The death toll is going to be much higher. Please pray for the people whose lives have been devastated by this storm.
