I've got an original ROPS on one of my 185's and a canopy to go on it. (Canopy's being repaired and painted right now, and is not on for the time being). It's not the straight ROPS, it's slanted. I like the slanted the best, they look better on the 100 series. I will snap a couple pictures of it tomorrow and post them.

I've got one from a 185 I parted out....doesn't have the canopy.
It is solid steel, goes thru a slot in the fenders and has a cross piece underneath that bolts to the transmission housing.

Tracy, here are a few shots of when I put ROPS on my 185.

I didnt cut holes in the fenders, instead I made spacers(length just a small amount than the thickness of the upright solid steel posts) and put the fenders on the outside of the
uprights.  You only lose the narrowest setting of the rear wheels.

Those spacers look neat, BUT THEY WILL KILL you if you ever need the ROPS. They have compromised the strength of the system. Solid plate spacers would be better than the bolt sleeve spacers, but neither has been tested by rolling the tractor over.

Gerald the ROPS is mounted properly, he used spacers to mount the fenders....otherwise he would have had to cut slots in them.

The ROPS is mounted solidly and securly with new bolts per operators manual; proper grade, size, length, torque, before the fenders were installed.

The spacers are there to mount the fenders ONLY!  I made 4 per fender.  I saved an excellent pair of fenders by not cutting them!

BTW, all the information is in the owners manual, except the spacers.

Heitman tractor salvage makes the new metal canopies for them that are just like the original. Reasonable priced too

Why so darned heavy steel?  The newer tractors use a tube steel frame for ROPS.

It was built like everything else from that time. Heavy duty.

The other style is fabricated from formed steel, resembling tubing. I have one of those also. I need the canopy tops though. Thanks Tracy
