Use to go out to the rifle range when I was a kid and sift for the lead. NONE of the ranges around here will allow you to do that anymore.

Dave is correct. The tin makes the lead harder. Thus the reason why all wheel weights are so brittle now. They used to be such nice soft lead...... I still mold bullets and fishing lures. I'll take all the lead anybody wants to give me! Just bring it to Hutch or Union Grove next year and I'll even buy you a beer!!
