Don: Saw a 918 in Syracuse, New York sorry don't have the serial number. They were awesome machines! I have a Dynahoe and may pick up an 816 as a companion.

When I bought my 715B from a JD dealer here it was working on price as they were going to ship it to PA . Said out east the AC machines would sell but around here if it was not Ford or Case they could not get a fair price.
I had seen 4 different 715 machines around here and 3 918 that were for sale. Local electric untility had bought several 715 machines but they were parts machines when they sold them.

Wow! Three 918's .....I'd loved to have seen èm. I once traveled north to check out one for my friend. It wasn't in very good shape,so I didn't encourage the sale. don-ohio (:^)

Here is a nice one. I was thinking about calling him and asking if he would take an HD6B in on trade.

Yes,that IS a nice-looking one. Looks like a 2 foot bucket on it,and a three footer in the loader.
Main thing is make sure the torque converter is pulling strong. When I bought mine it was slipping and I had major work to do as I went ahead and bought a new shuttle clutch also and had all the seals replaced. The machine should pull right out on level ground in third gear and keep going on a slight grade without losing over a couple MPH.Machine should run 14 MPH on highway in 4th. don-ohio (:^)

My friend has a proto type tractor that is basically what evolved into the 918. Its stamped as a I900.
There was a 918 on a farm not from Alta Vista Iowa a few years ago. We looked at it as the guy was considering sell it. Not sure if he ever did sell it. He had a high asking price. Jim |
