Getting ready to paint and install cab on the 200, we had a small seep in the bottom of the fuel tank so I took it off to put a liner in it. Question is, should a guy replace the four hoses/lines for the hyd remotes now while the tank and flooring is off. How common is it for these to break, or should a guy not worry about them. My guess is they wont be cheap, but they look like would be a bear to change in the field. Thanks

If they look suspect, now would be the time to do it. Hydraulic hose is cheap enough that you'll likely regret not doing it if one leaks or blows. |

You might be surprised what those hoses cost thru Agco. I replaced 6 on my 7050 from valves to couplers a couple years ago, and they were ridiculously cheap. I am thinking around 8 bucks at that time-and that was special ordered! I shouldn't have to worry about them for another 30 years. I doubt I am worrying about a whole lot of anything by then.

If you don't replace them now...
... 3 days from now
... in the dead of Winter
... on a saturday night
...you'll be saying, 'I KNEW I should have replaced them'...

Hydraulic hose assy's get hard and brittle from heat and age. They may not look that bad, but take from a guy who works on Hydraulic man lift bucket trucks all day. They pop, and at the worst time as Jay mentioned. If there's a hydraulic shop near by that can make the hose assy's for you, renew them while you can get to them! The cost will out wieght the aggrivation two to one...... |

Redline, are you sure the parts guy charged you for the right part? Mine are steel(with elbows) from the valve and then a short piece of hose. I will have to price them now, you have my couriosity up now.

Leon, I found the invoice from 9-25-07.
One hose is #70269404 Qty 3 $10.23 each
other is #70269405 Qty 3 $8.40 each
I was off a little on the prices, and as my feeble memory works through this, I think my tractor had been updated to separate hoses and steel tubes previously, so I only had to replace hoses. I was still surprised with the prices at the time. I bought these parts through Central Iowa Farm Store at Marshalltown, IA. I am sure the prices were correct at the time, as I commented to Reed that it was a good deal, and that is why I replaced them on all 3 valves.

Sounds like we'll be putting hoses from the valve to the remotes.

Make sure they truly are "unavailble". Our local agco parts guy is an idiot and will tell you everything is unavailble. Im wonder how many years he;ll be there before the owner catches on.

Just replaced two of those with hoses on the 200. It's not a pleasant job with the tank on. We ended up cutting the steel lines for clearance and rerouting the new hoses and leaving the rest of the old lines in place.
