Probably a dumb question because I know these are the heart and sole of a Gleaner Rotary combine but are they are critical in corn as other crops I don’t mind replacing them but I just got this N7 and the ones on it are wore completely out down to the metal know that if a pencil will fit they are wore out but I can stick my hand in between them. it will probably only see 50 acres through just to test it out I know nothing about the machine and I’m wanting to see what I’ll do before I spend a bunch of money on it.

If you cannot clean up the sample in the tank and/or have cleaning shoe losses that you can't seem to fix, those rubber rolls are probably the issue.

If the price is the main factor, see if you can dig through the dumpster of your local Gleaner dealer, or ask any locals that run Gleaners.
Many sets are changed as part of a preventive maintenance program when they know they wont make it through another year of hundreds to thousands of acres, but they are still good enough for a hundred or two acres. It sounds like yours are completely shot. I'd expect shoe loss from the slobbering, so i'd try to replace them with a better set. |

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.
If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help. |
